Thomas Anglero is a three-time technology pioneer, keynote speaker, author of Intro to Artificial Intelligence, and Strategic AI Advisor to executive leaders and boards.
He advises a limited number of senior executives on AI strategy and organisational transformation, and has delivered more than 450 keynotes across 30+ countries for organisations including the European Commission, the World Health Organisation, the World Government Summit, IBM, EY, Medtronic, and UNICEF.
He publishes Clarity at the Top, a newsletter and podcast for senior leaders, and operates through MerkabaPhi AS in Oslo, Norway.
The short answer to that question is yes. The longer answer is the more interesting one.
Three times, industries revolutionised.
Three times, Thomas was already there.
In 1993, he was among the first ten people in the world to make a voice call over the internet. He became CEO of Free World Dialup, the world’s first peer-to-peer voice network and a direct predecessor to Skype. CNN featured him as Maverick of the Day to three million live viewers. The industry he helped build is now worth over $100 billion.
In 2014, he founded the IBM Watson AI Lab for Cancer at the Oslo Cancer Cluster. It was the first AI laboratory for cancer embedded within a European cancer campus. Physicians travelled from across the continent to see what AI could mean for medicine. It became the moment AI in European healthcare was taken seriously as a discipline, not a technology experiment.
In 2025, he built his latest venture entirely with AI agents as his engineering team. No traditional development staff. The agents do the building. Humans hold the direction and the accountability. The advice Thomas gives senior leaders comes from that lived experience, not from theory.
Background
Nordic CTO at Cognizant, where he led AI strategy across the region and closed over $500 million in enterprise transformation deals. IBM Nordic Director of Innovation, building a pipeline exceeding $200 million. He redesigned how Norway’s Tax Authority approaches innovation, and held senior positions at Telenor and Ericsson. Four technology companies founded. Named Entrepreneur of the Year by IESE Business School in Barcelona.
